Mixtures for turf
The formulation of forage mixes for the creation of homogeneous, fine and elegant grass carpets must take into account, in addition to the soil and climatic conditions in which it is planted, the following priority criteria:
- its use: ornamental, recreational, sports, rustic or landscaped lawn;
- its specific composition:association and competition between species;
- its quality through the varieties used:varieties which, in addition to a minimum level of adaptability, have as essential requisites a good speed of establishment, a slow development and a good resistance to mounting to seed.
It is the variation of these indispensable requisites among the chosen varieties, combined with a greater or lesser specific and varietal purity, which indicates whether or not they belong to the standard rather than professional category.
